Crafts are a big business today. As per the 2001 survey by the Craft Organization Directors Association (CODA), the fine crafts market is a $13.8 billion industry and is growing. This survey also found that median household income, where part of the income came from crafts, is $50,000, which is significantly higher than the median national household income of $40,800 as reported by the US Census Bureau (1999). You learn how to set up your business, price the craft items, create marketing materials, and sell your craft items effectively.   4. Pricing - You make all these beautiful pieces of craft. Have you decided, what are you going to charge your customer for each piece? How are you going to determine what to charge? In this lesson we discuss pricing in detail.
  5. Selling at Craft Shows - Selling at the local craft shows is one of the most common ways to start in the craft business. In this lesson, we will cover basics about selling at the craft shows and making the best of it.
  6. Mail Order Sales - In this lesson we talk about selling craft through mail order or direct marketing. Mail order is one of the hottest industries these days.
  7. Selling Online - Online selling has booming in last few years. I have covered online selling in detail as this is currently the most common method of selling craft items and start a home-based crafts business.
  8. More Selling Opportunities - We have covered common selling methods in previous lessons. In this lesson we discuss other modes of selling that may be used. I will describe each method in detail and it advantages and disadvantages.
  9. Add to Craft Fun - There are other ways to make money from your craft, apart from selling your handcrafted items. These additional opportunities can add to your income generating potential and add fun to your crafting experience.
