Course Description

This course has been designed for people who use computer and Internet related technology at all levels. It introduces and explores general computing and Internet related concepts and terminology with definitions as well as picture and image illustrations. The concepts and terminology are carefully chosen for the average technology user to exclude terms that are too technical.

After taking this course, students will come away with a deeper understanding and better appreciation of the computer and Internet related technologies and become better educated and better versed technology users and consumers.

If you are more interested in understanding how computers work, though, you might want to take my 'Understanding Computers' course. If you are interested in exploring different online communications technology, I encourage you to take my 'Netiquette, Emoticons, and Abbreviations for Online Communications' course, which introduces and explains the proper use of netiquette, emoticons, abbreviations, and concepts and terminology for online communications, such as email, discussion forums, chat, and instant messaging.
