The focus of Surviving College Composition 101 is to prepare students for what is expected of them in a colleges and university composition course. The process of writing includes invention, and free writing, another aspect is organization shelling, outlining, drafting, and revisions. Also, another focus will be on areas of organization, clarity, and supporting evidence for your thesis. Students will become acquainted with many facets of the writing process including the following: developing a composing technique; developing the skills, attitudes, and character of a critical thinker; testing and evaluating ideas; and using standard written English effectively.
Composition is a writing class, but it is also a writing class that is research driven, which means you will need to do your research in order to effectively write your paper. Almost every college and university requires a student to take two-composition course for a degree. These courses require certain genre papers that are required and analysis papers, which have specific elements of each of these papers. This course will teach you the necessary skills to survive a college writing course and feel more confident in your writing skills and to become a successful scholar.

This lesson will provide you with the necessary skills to compare and contrast different subjects in formal writing.
Lesson 6: Critical Analysis Process
This lesson will provide the necessary skills for critical analysis, which will provide you with the skills for the argumentative essay.
Lesson 7: Argument Process
This lesson will provide you with more practice of the formal writing process.
Lesson 8: Pulling all Your Essays Together
This lesson is to wrap up the course and turning all papers.

After completion of all the requiements for the course in the sixteen week time period, you will recieve a certificate of completion. There will also be two awards for each student that achieves excellent Merits and academic excellene.
