Explores the scientific process, the characteristics of life, and the classification of living things.
Lesson 2: The Molecules of Cells
Discusses the molecules of cells, including the atom, molecular reactions, the properties of water, and organic molecules.
Lesson 3: Cell Structure and Function
Discusses the cellular level of organization,eukaryotic cells,prokaryotic cells, and evolution of the eukaryotic cell.
Lesson 4: Membrane Structure
Discusses the structure of the membrane of a cell, and how interactions of the outside environment intereact with the cell.
Lesson 5: Cell Division
Discusses cell division, mitosis and meiosis. Reducing chromosomes and the Human Life cycle is examined.
Lesson 6: Gene Inheritance and Chromosome Inheritance
The inheritance of genes, Mendal's law, and gene disorders are discussed. Also the heritance of linked genes and chromosomes are discussed.
Lesson 7: Photosynthesis
Photosynthesis, along with the processes that make up this energy-to- food mechanism are discussed. Radiant energy, structure and function of chloroplasts, and solar energy capture are discussed as well.
