Instructor John Hicks is a Mental Health Nurse who has been teaching patient education classes for over 15 years. He expanded into Tattooing, Body Piercing, Spray Tanning, and Permanent Cosmetic Applications to be able to take his nursing knowledge and sterile technique into these areas. Body Piercing 1 will teach you everything you need to know to safely pierce clients and set up and run your own professional body piercing shop at a profit! Course Description

Body Piercing 1 will teach you how to start a successful career as a professional body piercer. Everything you need to know to safely pierce clients will be covered. In addition to how to set up a body piercing shop including legal concerns and safety concerns,  you will learn about body piercing trends and body jewelry styles. Students should have a basic high school education to fully comprehend the medical and legal aspects covered.

  • Summarize the anatomy of basic body piercing, and

Lesson 1: Body Piercing Shop Concerns and Jewelry for Body Piercing.

We will study what you need to know to set up and run a professional body piercing shop of your own. We will also study the jewelry used in body piercing.

Lesson 2: Equipment used in professional body piercing.

We will discuss equipment used in professional body piercing. We will study equipment cost and basic equipment requirements involved in opening your own body piercing shop; and how to order, use, and maintain piercing tools.

Lesson 3: Piercing Procedure

In this lesson we will study in detail the step by step procedure you should follow each time you pierce a client. Focus will be on sterile technique and safety.

Lesson 4: Anatomy for Basic Body Piercing

We will study anatomy as it applies to basic body piercing procedures. We will study proper location for various piercings and will specify the type and size of jewelry recommended for each.

Lesson 5: Anatomy for Advanced Erotic Body Piercing.

We will study anotomy as it applies to Erotic Body Piercing Procedures. We will study proper location for various erotic piercings and will specify the type and size of jewelry recommended for each.
