Course Description

Would you like to learn how to protect, nurture and help wild animals and birds? This course explains and demonstrates how you can help without being a wildlife expert. Though the course focus is on what you can do in your own backyard, it also will provide information on pursuing a wildlife rehabilitation specialist career.

 

Wildlife rehabilitationYou'll learn how to tell if a wild animal really needs help, and what to do if help is needed and what not to do.  The class covers transporting problems, health concerns, dealing with wild animals that become urban pests, the pet factor and so much more.

 

This course is for anyone who loves and cares about wildlife.  It is devastating to attempt to help a wild animal or bird in distress only to discover you actually made matters worse. Don't make this mistake.  Enroll and gain the correct wildlife rehab knowledge. 

Course Requirements

Anyone interested in learning ways to protect wildlife is welcome to join this course. We will provide many tips and guides that will be of help to anyone interested.  The only thing you'll need is a high school reading level.

Course Goals

- To show you how you can take part in wildlife rehabilitation - Information about how to become a wildlife rehabilitation specialist - To show you the common causes of animal injury, signs of animal injury, and what steps you should (should not) take - The human health risks and prevention tips - How to deal with problematic wildlife animals - Methods that you can use to help wildlife in your own backyard

Grading Policy

Each lesson will include a written assignment and/or brief quiz that will directly apply what you have learned.

Final grades will follow this outline:
- 90- 100 A
- 80- 89 B
- 70- 79 C
- below 70 will be an F
Students will successfully complete this course with 70% or better.
