Learning, with more ways in.

This HTML experience includes keyboard, screen-reader, low-vision and motion controls. Our engineering target is WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This page describes implemented features and current limits; it is not a claim that every course or external service has been certified.

Make the display work for you

Use the Accessibility button on any page to enlarge text, choose stronger contrast, reduce animations, or pause decorative movement and rotating features. These preferences stay on this browser. Your browser's zoom and operating system accessibility tools remain available.

Use a keyboard or assistive input

Use the skip link to reach the main content. Tab and Shift+Tab move between controls; Enter or Space activates buttons. Dialogs keep focus inside while open, close with Escape, and return focus to the control that opened them. Lesson and exam introductions include a start button that does not require holding a key or pointer down.

Word-search and crossword boards use a single Tab stop. Arrow keys move between letters. Home and End move within a row; Ctrl+Home and Ctrl+End move across the board. Enter or Space selects a square. Crossword answers can also be typed directly into the labeled answer field.

Read and listen in your own way

Lesson text is available alongside presentations. Recorded audio displays captions and transcripts when supplied by the course. Course introductions offer a readable transcript, and lessons offer browser read-aloud controls. Learning reward prompts remain available without a response time limit by default.

Screen-reader support

Pages expose landmarks and headings. Fields have programmatic names; selections and progress expose their current state. Checkout validation links errors to fields. Important status and reward updates are announced without reading every animation frame or caption word aloud.

Current limits and feedback

Course-provided images, videos, captions and documents vary. Missing descriptions and captions need content review. External helpdesk, billing and embedded video services retain their own accessibility behavior. Automated browser and keyboard checks complement testing with people using assistive technology; they do not replace it.

If something blocks your learning, please contact the UniversalClass helpdesk. Include the page or course, the task you were attempting, your device/browser and any assistive technology you use. Please do not include passwords or payment details.
