Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Will these courses transfer as 'college credit'?
Unless otherwise specified by the institution or program you're enrolled in, the answer is no. The decision of whether or not any course will transfer as college credit is entirely up to the school and/or advisor of your program. As such, there is no guarantee any course will be transferrable anywhere unless the receiving institution approves it in writing beforehand. You may use our courses to prepare for the CLEP (College Level Examination Program) exams as many colleges do accept CLEP Credits which you can obtain after successfully passing the CLEP exam.

  8. What is your refund policy?
As convenient, efficient, and effective as online learning has proven over and over, time and again, we know that it may not be for everyone. Because online learning is fun and challenging, UniversalClass enforces the following refund policy for all online course providers:

    Platinum/Unlimited Membership Plans

Due to the unrestricted and free access nature of these plans, the Platinum and Unlimited Membership Plans are non-refundable.

72-Hour Refund Policy: Single Course Purchases

If a member withdraws from a class within 72 hours of enrollment and contacts customer service (helpservice@universalclass.com) with a satisfactory explanation about requesting a refund, the course fee may be refunded to the member usually in the method of payment originally given to UniversalClass (credit card, check, etc.), provided that less than 30% of the lesson content has been accessed by the learner.

After 72 Hours and Within 7-Days: Service Credit

All cancellation/withdrawal requests after 72 hours and within the first 7 days of initial enrollment must be submitted in writing to the instructor of the course. The request should include a detailed explanation on why the student cannot continue the course. Any cancellation requests approved after 72 hours and within 7 days of enrollment will be in the form of transfer credit only provided that less than 30% of the lesson content has been accessed by the learner. Once approved, the learner can enroll in a course of equal or lesser value.

After 7 days from the initial enrollment, all course fees are non-refundable.

    Course Transfer Requests

Course transfer requests (requesting to change courses) are guided by the same policies as refund requests. Course transfer requests must be made within the first 7 days of enrollment provided less than 30% of the current course in question has been accessed.

After 7 days of enrollment, course enrollment is final, course transfer is not available.

    Certificate Return Policy

Certificates are immediately available for printing and downloading once purchased, and cannot be returned. Certificate purchases are non-refundable.
  9. I am enrolling several students. Is there a group discount?

Yes, there are discounts for enrolling many students at once, as well as several other benefits depending on your training needs. Check out our 'Group Discounts' area where you can purchase courses in bulk for your learners, receive discounts based on amount spent, and easily monitor/track your learners' progress. It's easy to get started right away --

You can generate a quote online, pay for the courses, and begin sending your learners voucher codes for immediate course access in just a few clicks.
  10. Am I allowed to retake a course?
You may retake a course from scratch (clearing of course progress) after 365 days (one full year) from the latest withdrawal and/or failure date. To do so, you'll have to put in a request to our online help desk for review. You cannot retake a course if you have already successfully completed the course (received your CEU Certificate of Course Completion) in the last 7 years.
  11. Is there an instructor available to answer questions?
Yes. Our courses are both self-paced and instructor-led. An instructor is available to monitor and assess your performance as well as help you locate additional resources if you need more help. Please note that our instructors are not tutors and they do not provide tutoring services. For online learning to work, you must be an independent, self-paced (and self-disciplined) learner. It is fun, convenient, and truly exciting and engaging to learn online, but it's not for everyone.
  12. How many hours will it take to complete a course?

Most of our continuing education courses can be completed within 10-20 hours. To find out how long it will take to complete the course, take the course CEUs and multiply that number by 10. For example, a 1.4 CEU course can be completed in 14 hours.

  13. When does a class start and end?
The class starts for you when you pay the course fee. You can enroll anytime--day or night. Courses are self-paced and everyone works according to their own timetable. The online classroom will be open and accessible once you're enrolled, 24 hours a day--every day of the week for up to six months. The class ends when you complete all the coursework and the instructor graduates you from the course, or when your subscription expires (after 6 months).
  14. If I don't purchase the certificate option will I still get a certificate or documenting stating I completed the course?
No. If you do not purchase the online certificate option you will not receive a document stating you completed the course at successful completion. You are essentially auditing the course without official record-keeping.
  15. Do I need to buy any textbooks?
Most courses on UniversalClass™ are thoroughly written enough so you will not need to buy any required textbooks--although we will recommend additional reading materials to purchase--these materials are optional and you are not required to buy them to complete the course.

However, some courses do require textbooks (for example, many of the Algebra and Geometry courses require textbooks)--refer to the class syllabus for any 'required textbooks' or other course supplies.
  16. Do I have to pay for an online course?
Yes. All courses have a subscription fee. UniversalClass is able to host courses at reduced fees because it is not linked to the tuition costs associated with a university or organization. Our low subscription fees allow us to provide a worldwide audience with access to educational skills and career building tools.
  17. Are there any additional costs?
Once you pay the course fee, you are granted a 6 month subscription to complete the course. If you need more than 6 months, you may easily submit payment online to renew your subscription and continue from where you left off. If you wish to receive an online CEU Certificate documenting your CEUs and contact hours at successful course completion, you'll need to purchase the CEU Certificate option at course registration (additional processing/shipping/handling fees applied for hard copy delivery of documentation). Any physical course supplies you need to complete a course (such as cooking utensils for a baking course) and any required/recommended books are not included in the course fee. These items can be typically found under the course syllabus.
