While family members and significant others are still providing most of the care for the elderly and disabled, there remains a need for professional help. A professional caregiver is NOT a certified nurse aide or Registered Nurse. Professional caregivers work wherever seniors and those with disabilities are found, and their primary duties involve care that a family member or significant other would provide.
The course is designed for those who wish to provide services professionally as an individual contractor or as a staff member for a non-medical homecare agency/registry. It also is helpful for those who are currently caring for significant others, such as family or friends. While this course will not provide state approved certification for nurse aide training, it is a great place to start to enter the home care field.
