  1. Are these courses accredited?
Courses hosted on UniversalClass are not accredited. Our courses will provide CEUs not college credit. CEU's are Continuing Education Units with 1 CEU roughly equal to 10 contact hours.
Course completion will not provide certification, accreditation, degrees, licenses, discounts or job guarantees. However, instructors may offer a variety of course completion certificates for students' portfolios listing grades, course hours, completion dates and other class statistics. In addition, a transcript of official course progress is documented and will be made available.
  2. Can I earn certificates?
Yes. UniversalClass offers many different certificates documenting your academic efforts that your class instructor can issue (i.e. Certificate of Academic Excellence, Certificate of Attendance, Certificate of Merit). The certificates that you have been awarded will be listed when My Awards is clicked. If you want to make your certificate official and receive a hard copy of the certificate, the processing fee is $30.00 plus shipping and handling. Purchasing certificates/awards you earn is optional. Email your class instructor about his/her policy on issuing these certificates.
  3. Can I email the instructor my questions?
Yes, you can contact an instructor at anytime by clicking on the Class Emails link located on the virtual classroom navigational bar (left-hand side of your screen). On the next screen highlight the instructor's email address and scroll down to fill out the form.
  4. Do I get a "grade" for a class?
Yes. All coursework, test/quizzes, attendance, and class participation is recorded and graded by your instructor. And based on the grading guidelines your instructor uses, all of your coursework grades and final are displayed on your "My Reportcard" link located on your classroom navigational bar displayed on the left side of your screen.
  5. Do I have to pay for an online course?
Yes. All courses have a course fee (except for the free How to Take an Online Course demo course). UniversalClass is able to host courses at reduced fees because it is not linked to the tuition costs associated with a university or organization. Our low course fees allow us to provide a worldwide audience with access to educational skills and career building tools.
  6. How do I find out about the instructor?
Clicking on the underlined instructor's name listed on the Course Information page, will display the instructor's online information. The instructor controls most of the information displayed.
  7. How do I stop receiving the emails when I leave a class?
To discontinue receiving classroom information, highlight "no" to disable email notification listed in Email Alerts! on your classroom navigational bar.
  8. How do I submit assignments?
The assignments forms provided in the classroom will provide three different ways to submit an assignment: 1.) Type in provided text box. 2.) Copy/paste 3.) Upload your assignment file. For further details enroll in the free demo course for students at: How to Take an Online Class at UniversalClass
  9. How long do I have to complete a course?
Students have 6 months starting at the time of enrollment to complete any course. Extensions may be available upon instructor approval for up to 3 months at a time (for a maximum of 1 year from the day of enrollment).
  10. I don't use a credit card; can I send you a check?
Yes. We accept checks, money orders, payments through PayPal, and payments via all major credit cards. To use any of these options, begin your Course Enrollment process by displaying the Course Enrollment screen (click on the underlined title) and click on either "Basic Course" or "Course with CEU Certificate Option". Our mailing address and telephone information will be available when you click on the Methods of Payment screen
  11. I just enrolled in a class, now what do I do?
All of the courses you have joined or are currently teaching will be listed, highlighted and underlined on your My Classes screen. To access a course, click on the My Classes tab located on the center toolbar on the UniversalClass Inc. homepage- login in (with your Member ID/ Password) and click on the underlined class title listed in the box titled "Classes I'm Taking". You can also click on Sign In at the top of our homepage screen and enter your Member/User I.D. and Password (careful you don't reverse them).
To enter your classroom, click on the class title and you'll arrive at your classroom start page. A "help" wizard will greet you and advice you on how to continue. We always recommend that you enroll in our free demo course for students: How to Take an Online Class at UniversalClass
  12. I Was Awarded a Certificate. How Much Does It Cost to Get a Hard Copy of It?
If you earn a certificate on our service, you have the option to purchase the certificate (it is not required). Certificates are $30.00 per award plus shipping and handling.
  13. What does it mean by "instructor-led"?
This phrase means that an "instructor", a "live" person and not a computer, is putting up all classroom content. It also implies that while instructor content is not computer generated, you don't necessarily need to meet real-time with the instructor. Universal classrooms are set up so that all types of communication and information exchanges can take place at your convenience.
  14. What happens if I don't do well in the class?
Nothing. Many of the classes offered at UniversalClass are classes that are used to share and exchange information of interest. The importance of academic performances is individually based, and class instructors have the ability to communicate with you about your coursework and overall performance. Nothing beyond informing you about your classroom coursework is implemented.
  15. What if the class I am looking for is not listed?
If a course is no longer listed in the course catalog, it is probably no longer available. UniversalClass hosts over 500 online courses so a similar course may be found instead. For general searches look through our Course Categories to narrow your search.
  16. When do test score data become available?
The instructor of the course you're taking will determine when test score data is made available. Essay questions are the exception, as these questions cannot be automatically graded, instructors must grade these individually. This will take more time, and a student cannot receive a grade for these automatically.
  17. When does a class start and end?
The class starts for you when you enroll. You can always enroll anytime, day or night. Courses are self-paced and everyone works according to his/her own timetable. The variance here is widespread and we do not calculate the number of hours for any course completion. The classroom will be open and accessible, once you're enrolled, 24 hours a day--every day of the week for up to six months (you can contact us if you need an extension). The class ends when you complete all the coursework.
  18. Where are classes listed?
Over 500 online courses are hosted on UniversalClass and are listed in the following areas on our homepage: 1. Course Catalog (found on UniversalClass start page and will list all available courses in alphabetical order). 2. Categories (list of Categories, which organize courses in various areas of interest, displayed along the left navigational bar), 3. Staff Picks of the Week (in this section we list courses having interesting lesson material, or are relevant to the time of the year). 4. Top 20 New Courses (new courses are displayed.)
  19. Why Go With UniversalClass?
The advantages of taking a self-paced online class at UniversalClass include: 1. Easy to Use 2. Extremely Affordable 3. Real Instructors 4. Reviewed Instruction 5. Personalized Assessment 6. Complete Documentation and Tracking of All Your Work and 7. Online and Hard Copy Certificates (documentation of your work is ideal for resumes and professional portfolios).
Instructor-led courses hosted on UniversalClass deliver fast, secure and quality online instruction. Students can learn at anytime, anywhere, any place and at their own convenience.
  20. Why Won't My Credit Card Work?
The one problem we often see is that the address you entered when you registered is not the same address that your credit card company has on file and so the card is Declined. Otherwise, you’ll have to call your bank or credit card company to find out why your card was Declined.
