The primary focus of this self-study course is medical coding on the Digestive System utilizing the ICD-9-CM and CPT coding manuals. Medical Terminology pertaining to the Digestive System is also reviewed to educate the student on the Digestive System. Procedures and surgical instruments are discussed in the lesson to help the student advance their knowledge when coding Gastroenterology procedures. The experienced coder will gain additional knowledge in Gastroenterology and Colorectal specialty coding, both in ICD-9 and CPT.
