Course Description

Young baseball playerHow to coach little league baseball is an ideal guide for any coach or parent of young players. Whether you are new to coaching youth baseball or looking for ways to improve your techniques, this course will help move you and your young team towards a great season!

For over sixty years, the non-profit organization known as Little League Baseball, Incorporated, has become the de facto starting point for children interested in the game of baseball in the United States.  In order to accomplish the goal of promoting skill development and good sportsmanship essential to baseball, it becomes important to have coaches that understand how to impart knowledge to their players regarding how the game should be properly played. This course will provide this information.

This course focuses on the skills, drills, and attitudes that are core to establishing a good Little League Baseball team.  Each of the lessons in this course will cover a certain aspect that is integral to Little League Baseball. We will examine how to get involved; how to form a team; how to get the equipment needed; and ways to coach various game-related and character-building skills, such as batting, pitching, base-running, conditioning, catching, and running practices.
