The event planning business needs no special licenses or experience to operate. A local business license is all you probably need along with a desire to be your own boss, set your own hours and determine your own income. In the event planning business you can work from home - the corner of your bedroom or even your kitchen table will do. This course is for you if you are thinking about becoming a Special Event Planner or you just want to learn how to plan ANY event with "know-how".

The goal of the course is to provide you, the student, with a system that can be easily implemented when planning a special event. A special event, for the purpose of this course is a one-time event focused on a specific purpose such as a golf tournament, a company picnic or even a sweet 16 birthday party. At the end of the course the student should be able to understand and follow the system taught.  Atlthough this course specifically deals with planning a fundraising-event for a non-profit organization, the same rules apply for any organization.

Enroll today! This is a self-paced, online course. You have 6 months to finish. An instructor will monitor your progress and assess your body of work at course completion. UniversalClass™ offers many wonderful learning tools to help you get the most out of your online course, including an online portfolio service that manages all your course completions.

Course Description

At Special Event Planning 1-2-3, you will learn the easy way to successfully plan and organize personal or organizational special events. The planning process starts with you getting to know who you are as a planner. Are you organized, creative, high-spirited, or gentle? Are you forceful, restless, bold or tenancious. This five part workshop starts with helping you examine and apply the traits you possess to become a successful special event planner. You will then learn to create, plan, organize and facilitate a special event: create a budget, involve your cold and warm markets, design the event, obtain volunteers, publicize and even what to do when the guests arrive.
This course offers 1.0 CEUs upon successful completion. You may take this online course with or without CEU documentation. An online and hard-copy Certificate of Course Completion displaying your coursework and CEUs earned is included with the CEU Option. We also offer an expedited Transcript Service for sending your accomplishments to a third party.
