Course Description

This online course will prepare you to take the Language Arts, Writing Part 1 portion of the GED (General Educational Development) test. The testing format is explained and broken down to highlight just the content the Language Arts part of the exam will cover. The class will provide study resources for students including test strategies, practice tests, practical assignments and researched netlinks attached to many exam topics to be read at your own leisure.  This course will also explain the role of usage, mechanics and organization in sentences, plus show you frequent sentence structure logic and typical spelling errors.  

 

This course will focus on the Language Arts, Writing, Part 1 of the GED exam.

Instructor Alice Carson teaches GED Preparation for the Language Arts, Writing, Part 1 one of 5 courses in our GED test prep series. This course will cover basic skills needed in successfully completing the section of Part 1 of the Language Art, Writing the GED exam. The class will review: - Common Grammar and Spelling Errors (usage) - Common Sentence Structure Errors - Organization - Mechanics These lessons will focus on the current skills plus the updates implemented on the GED exam. In order to succeed on the GED exam overall you have to be able to read, compute, interpret information, and express yourself in writing on a level comparable to that of 60 percent of graduating high school seniors.
This course offers 3.0 CEUs upon successful completion. You may take this online course with or without CEU documentation. An online and hard-copy Certificate of Course Completion displaying your coursework and CEUs earned is included with the CEU Option. We also offer an expedited Transcript Service for sending your accomplishments to a third party.
