Course Description

The decision to go to college is a one of the most important choices you can make.  The college admission process should not start at the end of a student's high school career.  Preparing for college entails a lot of planning for the future and making very important decisions early on.  This course will help prospective college students and their parents understand the steps that need to be taken in order to get ready for college.  Topics covered are: basic terms, standardized testing, the application process, financial aid, scholarships and much more!

Lesson 1: Common Terms Related to College Admissions

This lesson includes a list of common terms related to the college application and admission process.

Lesson 2: Preparation Tips for Pre-High School Students

The college preparation process begins in middle school. This lesson explains what to do in order to prepare for high school and ultimately college.

Lesson 3: Preparation Tips for 9th and 10th Grade Students

This lesson focuses on ways to develop skills, outside of the classroom, that are all necessary for college preparation. It also includes helpful "tips" 9th and 10th graders can use.

Lesson 4: Preparation Tips for 11th and 12th Grade Students

The final two years of high school have arrived. This lesson summarizes the steps that should be taken in order to have a successful transition to college.

Lesson 5: The College Application Process

In this final lesson, you will learn about the steps high school seniors should take in order to successfully apply to the college(s) of their choice.
