Online Class: Physical Geography - Landscape Appreciation Part 2
This class finishes the presentation of the world climate zones introduced in Part 1. It continues with forces that shape the landscape such as erosion through the action of rivers, glaciers, waves, and wind. The circulation of ocean currents and their effect on weather in various parts of the world is discussed. Weathering processes and their actions in forming the terrain are examined. Landforms made of warped rock layers, and their unique shapes, are presented. The class concludes with a look at the general vegetation types in different regions of the world, and a brief look at remote sensing.
A student of this class will be able to identify the climate of one's home area, explain the various forces that have shaped the terrain of one's local area and their action. A student will also be able to describe the natural vegetation one finds and understand why it is there

Physical Geography - Landscape Appreciation Part 2 will give the student the background needed for understanding the inter-relationship between climates and soil types. The student will also be able to explain and appreciate the actions of erosional forces in forming the landscape, describe how land forms are built up, and undertand the interactions between ocean circulation and weather. In addition, the student will know the natural vegetation of one's home area. Overall, the student will acquire education in physical geography that most people do not have. Such an individual will be able to make informed choices on matters that involve the physical world.
This class is not for regular college credit on one's study program leading to a degree from an accredited institution.
However, there is NO disclaimer on the learning.
