Course Description

Physical Geography studies the physical world around us.  It explains natural features on Earth, such as climate, rock types, vegetation, volcanoes, earthquakes, and weather systems, and why they are found in their particular locations.  It also looks at the distribution of glaciers, rivers, shorelines, and how they form the terrain.  Geographic knowledge gives one a comprehension of one's own environment and of other places.  An individual will understand how the forces of nature shape the landscape and influence the physical setting of one's own region.  A student of physical geography will be able to make informed choices on matters related to climate, weather, general lifestyle, vocational interest, and conservation issues.  Physical geography also imparts an appreciation of the natural landscape that cannot be measured in direct terms, but, instead is something that an individual carries throughout one's life.  Such an individual will be ahead of one's fellows in knowing the factors behind current events involving the physical world.  Enter the world of Physical Geography!  Get acquainted with your surroundings J. The only requirements of this course are high-school level reading proficiency and curiosity about your world.  It starts with Part 1 of this course.

This course offers 1.0 CEUs upon successful completion. You may take this online course with or without CEU documentation. An online and hard-copy Certificate of Course Completion displaying your coursework and CEUs earned is included with the CEU Option.
