You need to have PowerPoint 2003 software installed on your system and just a basic working knowledge of computers. You don't need to have any prior knowledge of PowerPoint.

Course Lessons

  1. Introduction - Part I - This chapter gives an overview of how to launch PowerPoint, the PowerPoint window, its parts and their functions.
  2. Introduction - Part II - This will be a continuation of the previous chapter covering topics about drop-down menus and PowerPoint help.
  3. Text Manipulation - This chapter enlightens you of the basic operations on text like entering, selecting, deleting, copying, and pasting text. You will also learn about undo,redo, and repeat features, along with saving the file and closing the PowerPoint program.
  4. Formatting Text - This chapter starts off with the learning of how to open a saved presentation. It then moves on to acquiring the knowledge about changing the font size, color, face, superscript, subscript, format painter and providing effects for the text.
  5. Paragraph, Placeholder, and Font Management - This chapter talks about paragraphs, their alignment, and providing spacing between them. You will also be able to make global font face change using the Replace Font feature, resize and move the placeholders and change the case of the text.
  6. Spell checker, Thesaurus, and Dynamics of Text Box - This chapter explains all about using the spell checking and thesaurus feature. It also deals exhaustively on inserting, deleting, tilting, moving, formatting of the text box. You will also learn to increase or decrease the width of the text box.
  7. Autocorrect Options and Kinetics of Slides - This chapter starts off with a real cool feature about AutoCorrect Options. Next you ll have an insight on adding a new slide, deleting and duplicating a slide, opening a new presentation, and adding slide numbers, date, time, and footer for your slides.
  8. Shooting Bullets into Slides - This chapter covers topics on selecting slides, applying text layouts, creating bulleted lists, changing the bullet size, shape, and color, customizing bullet shapes, and adding picture bullets.
  9. Decorating Slides with Numbered Lists - This chapter helps in understanding a little more about lists like changing a bulleted to a numbered list, providing multiple levels of bullets, and the list alignment. It also deals with the formatting of a text placeholder and applying slide designs.
  10. Embedding Tables - This chapter will be the first part in the learning of tables. It deals with the parts of a table, tables and borders toolbar, ways to insert a table, entering text, selecting cells, inserting and deleting rows, columns, and an entire table.
  11. Transforming Table Appearance - Part I - This chapter discusses about changing the column width and row height, formatting table text, aligning text in a cell, splitting and merging cells, draw table and eraser tool. You will also have a peek as to how to use the draw table and eraser tool.
  12. Transforming Table Appearance - Part II - This is will be a color filled chapter. You will know about formatting and removing borders. You will apply colors to the cells of the table. Also gain the knowledge about distributing rows and columns evenly.
  13. Playing with AutoShapes - Part I - This chapter carries a detailed description about selecting, resizing, rotating, moving, copy-pasting, formatting, adding and editing the text of an AutoShape.
  14. Playing with AutoShapes - Part II - This is an extension of the previous chapter, which deals with filling an AutoShape with a texture, pattern, and picture. You will also learn about applying shadows to the AutoShape and change shadow settings.
  15. 3-D Effects for AutoShapes and Managing ClipArt - This chapter gives an insight on applying 3-D effects to the AutoShapes and changing the 3-D settings. In addition, you will learn about inserting, resizing, moving, copy-pasting, formatting, adding background colors, and boundaries to a ClipArt.
