The purpose of this course is to help you understand what Outlook 2007 can do for you, whether you are familiar with Outlook 2003 or new to the application altogether. This course has been developed to be of benefit to new users of Outlook, individuals migrating from previous versions of Outlook and individuals wanting to learn to use the advanced functionality ofOutlook 2007.

·Set up new email accounts along with understanding how to convert their previous Outlook information to 2007
·Utilize the toolbars and navigation panes in Outlook 2007
·Understand how to operate the email tools in Outlook 2007
·Demonstrate an understanding of how to customize email options and tools
·Perform personal information management tasks
·Manage and utilize Outlook 2007's contact management tools
·Understand and utilize Outlook 2007's calendar, tasks, notes and journal entry tools
·Demonstrate an understanding of the collaboration and remote access tools in Outlook 2007
Course Structure
This course is broken down into eleven lessons to take you through each of the tools that Outlook 2007 offers the user. Each lesson will cover between five to six learning goals and each goal is associated with one aspect of Outlook 2007.
Each lesson will also include hyperlinks for you to find further information online along with hot tips. As with all software not everything runs smoothly all the time in Outlook 2007 and in each lesson we will also alert you to common errors or "pitfalls" to watch out for.
Before you begin:
·We recommend you back up your current Outlook information including your inbox/folders/address book using the File menu/export/.pst files.
·If you are a current user of Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 or an earlier version, before you download 2007 we recommend you uninstall these programs. Outlook 2007 will not download if you are operating a previous version.
·While this course is aimed at both beginners and advanced users, we take for granted that you already know how to turn your computer on, use your mouse and can understand in basic terms how to operate your computer.
Course Requirements
This course will not require you to have previous experience in any particular area but you should have the following:
- Outlook version 2007
- a high school reading level.

All course material will be provided in the lessons and netlinks. There are no required materials to purchase before taking the class. In order to fully benefit from this course, though, you do need access to Microsoft Outlook 2007.
Grading Policy
Lessons will include a lesson review quiz along with one or two assignments. Students will successfully complete this course with 70% or better.
