In this lesson, you will be presented with an overview of the cosmetology industry. This will include definitions of the various specialties within the field of cosmetology, industry-specific statistics, earnings potential, a description of the work envir

Lesson 2: Preparing for Your Cosmetology Career

This lesson presents information to help you decide if a career in cosmetology is right for you. The lesson begins with a look at the physical and mental attributes typically needed to succeed in this industry.

Lesson 3: A Closer Look at Careers in Cosmetology

In the next three lessons, we take a closer look at some of the specialties in the cosmetology industry. In this lesson, you will learn more about four of the most common cosmetology: hairstylist, barber, nail technician and make-up artist.

Lesson 4: More Cosmetology Careers

In this lesson, the focus shifts to four less common specialties: permanent cosmetic technician, esthetician, electrology and massage therapy.

Lesson 5: Even More Cosmetology Careers

Our look at cosmetology industry specialties concludes with an overview of three specialties: day spa employee, manufacturer's education representative and cosmetology instructor.

Lesson 6: Life After Cosmetology School

In this lesson, you will learn about what to expect in the months (and years) following your completion of cosmetology school. From starting your first job to deciding whether or not furthering your education is for you.

Lesson 7: Resources for a Successful Job Search
