'Magic of Motherhood Method - Baby Centered Birthing'

Childbirth Education and Preparation

 

Preparing for the birthing of your child involves emotional, physical and psychological knowledge and practice for both mom and baby.

              The Magic of Motherhood Method is a Complimentary Natural Childbirth method for use with or without medications, at home, birth center, or in a hospital. The key concepts are “Experiencing, Understanding and Enjoying” your labor and delivery through emotional support, empowering yourself, and empowering your baby. Utilizing relaxation/visualization methods and understanding your body reducing the risk of perinatal mood disorders by promoting early bonding and acknowledgement of the baby through the transition of birthing.

 

****An online education and preparation class for this exciting time can help prepare and support busy parents who are not able to attend a time consuming class. It is also a great refresher for those who have had babies before****

Course Requirements

It is recommended that students have a primary healthcare practitioner (midwife, OB/Gyn, etc) to seek 'live' help from for the birth of their child.

The methods of childbirth education discussed in this class are to educate and prepare for your labor and delivery. Only your healthcare provider can tell you if they are appropriate for your birth. Certain pregnancies require medical intervention such as bed rest, caesarean delivery, or early induction.

Course Goals

Goal 1: An understand the history of hypnobirthing, Leboyer and Grant-Read birthing techniques, and the mental and emotional development of the womb baby and how they apply to the Magic of Motherhood method .

 

Goal 2: To become emotionally ready for birth .

Goal 3: To become physically ready for birth .

Goal 4: To have the ability to create the birth experience you want .

Goal 5: To prepare for the labor .

Goal 6: To prepare for the delivery .

Goal 7: To learn basic newborn management skills

Grading Policy

Assignments will be graded on a percentage scale. Each assignment, exam, and classroom participation score will figure into the final grade..

 

Classroom participation is determined by the amount and intensity of classroom activity, postings, and questions.

The Magic of Motherhood method

The Magic of Motherhood method incorporates empowers the baby and the mother in the birthing process. Methods utilized include the relaxations and visualizations of hypnotherapy, promoted by Dr. Dick-Read as well as the peaceful and gentle birthing methods promoted by Dr. Leboyer and Michel Odent
In a Magic of Motherhood birth, babies are recognized and included as an integral part of the process, as promoted by Doctors David B. Chamberlain and Thomas Verny.
