Course Description

Becoming a vegetarian is serious business. Before starting you should know what vegetarianism means, why you want to become one and how to become one. These are only three of the many questions you need to find answers to before deciding to change your eating habits. In So You Want To Become A Vegetarian, you will learn (1) the importance of giving yourself time to really assimilate vegetarianism , (2) the different types of vegetarians that exist, (3) how and where to get more knowledge, (4) and finally how to interact with non-vegetarians.
So You Want to Become a Vegetarian? is a good class for those students just considering changing their eating approach. When a person decides to become a vegetarian his/her entire life-style changes. The goal of the seven lessons found in the class is to help the new vegetarian understand what it is all about. The only requirement is wanting to know what being a vegetarian is all about. It's also a worthwhile class for parents who want to know more about it because their child has decided to stop eating meat.

No deadlines have been set for any of the lessons, assignments or tests because becoming a vegetarian is a very personal thing and requires a lot of thought. Students are encouraged to use the "forum" on a continuous basis to share experience, ask questions etc.

Instructor Mary DeGruttola teaches two other classes for UniversalClass: Missing Animals and Napoleonic Legacy.
