Jill Chasse teaches early parenting, infant mental, emotional and cognitive health and development classes. She is certified by the International Association of Counselors and Therapists of which she is also a member.  Course Description Relationships are complicated. Love and companionship are wonderful things, but they can also be challenging. Just like a garden, relationships need attention, respect, focus and work. When a baby enters the picture, the couple changes into a family.  ©2005 E&E Lund This transformation and the birthing of a mother and a father role can cause a multitude of issues that couples must be ready for to offer the best strength and stability for their relationship. Relationship Management I discusses the emotional ups and downs a couple goes through in the early stages of parenthood, including conception, pregnancy and birth. Learning Outcomes By successfully completing this course, students will be able to:

- Define conception.
- Describe pregnancy.
- Describe the birth and new baby.
- Recognize abuse and summarize healing processes, and
- Demonstrate mastery of lesson content at levels of 70% or higher.

This time is vital for building a healthy future for yourselves and for your family. | Lesson 2 - ConceptionNo matter how much planning, the acknowledgement of pregnancy comes as a surprise to your emotions and your relationship. This lesson helps you deal with the announcement and new visitor in your womb. | Lesson 3 - PregnancyThe pregnancy will bring a roller coaster of emotions for mom, dad, and baby. This trying time is tough on your relationship. Lesson 3 helps to alleviate some of those stressors and help reduce the risk of fights. | Lesson 4- The Birth and New BabyAnd now all the dreaming, fearing, and anticipating is over- the baby is born!
This lesson reminds you of how important the relationship with your significant other is at this time. | Lesson 5 - Abuse and HealingHow to deal with fights and abuse, and understanding how parents who were raised in an abusive household are not destined to become abusive parents themselves.
