Colors evoke emotion. When people see a color, they link it with a specific emotion. That is why color can set a certain mood. The goal of this class is to provide you with basic knowledge of Color Psychology. Students will learn what colors mean universally, as well as culturely. Students will learn color combinations and schemes. Students will also learn about paint selections, using balance with color, and how to balance color in a home.
Colors have an emotional temperature and temperamental effect.
Warm colors generally include magenta, red, orange, yellow, and yellow-green. They speed up our perception of time and produce feelings that are warm, cozy, and inviting. These colors are associated with excitement, happiness and comfort. Cool Colors generally include violet, blue, light blue, and sea green. Emotions associated with these colors range from calm and peace to sadness, withdrawal and repression.

This class is for the design beginner with an emphasis on COLOR. I will give you an idea on how to create atmosphere that suits your style, whether it is a romantic, calm or energized space you are looking for. This class will offer design and color tips for your home. You will learn about color combinations, color psychology, and color pallets that will suit your home. There are wonderful visuals and creative rooms to explore too. Color creates an atmosphere. Color definitely creates a feeling. Let's find out the atmosphere you want to create. Students should sign up to learn more about the basics of incorporating color into any home.
Instructor Nicole Allison has added Decorating and Color Psychology to her online series on interior decorating for beginners. The goal of this class is to provide you with basic knowledge of Color Psychology. Students will learn what colors mean universally, as well as culturally. Students will learn color combinations and schemes. Students will also learn about paint selections, using balance with color, and how to balance color in a home.
Students will not need to buy any materials. Previous courses, education, or experience is not necessary to take this course. Students can work at their own pace during this class.
This course offers 1.0 CEUs upon successful completion. You may take this
online course with or without CEU documentation. An online and hard-copy Certificate of Course Completion displaying your coursework and
