This course will cover general care and first aid for a variety of animals. Also included will be training tips, fun activities for adults and children and basic first aid in an emergency. Also included in this course is a look at some exotic and rare animals. From Apes, to the Kowari Rat, Wolves, and Zebra, this course is truly an A - Z of animal knowledge. Students can expect to learn a wide range of general care information as well as specifics concerning emergencies and training. Domestic and wild animals will be covered, and students will gain a wealth of knowledge concerning the exotic pet trade and the ill effect it has on endangered species. There are 26 lessons in this course, one for each letter of the alphabet. This course will cover general care and first aid for a variety of animals. Also included will be training tips, fun activities for adults and children and basic first aid in an emergency.

Also included in this course is a look at some exotic and rare animals. From Apes, to the Kowari Rat, Wolves, and Zebra, this course is truly an A - Z of animal knowledge.

Students can expect to learn a wide range of general care information as well as specifics concerning emergencies and training.

Domestic and wild animals will be covered, and students will gain a wealth of knowledge concerning the exotic pet trade and the ill effect it has on endangered species.

There are 26 lessons in this course, one for each letter of the alphabet. Students may work at their own pace, but are encouraged to continue on a regular basis, as this is a rather intense and long course.


In Animal Health and General Care from A to Z the instructor's goals are to teach students general health care and how to enjoy a variety of species of animals. From Apes, to the Kowari Rat, Wolves, and Zebra, this course is truly an A - Z of animal knowledge. A love for animals and their welfare is all that is required to take this course.

Loretta Emmons, who teaches several petcare courses for UniversalClass, has put together 26 lessons for this course, one for each letter of the alphabet. Students may work at their own pace, but are encouraged to continue on a regular basis, as this is a rather intense and long course. The material for this course is all inclusive, and there is no additional material to purchase.

  1. Apes 101 - A general introduction to the family of apes and their care in captivity.
  2. Boa Constrictor 101 - A class on Boa Constrictors their care and maintenance.
  3. Cats 101 - General care for cats, as well as training tips and first aid.
  4. Dog 101 - A lesson on the general care and training of dogs. First aid and behaviors will be discussed as well.
  5. Elk 101 - Raising Elk for fun and profit.
  6. Ferrets 101 - Raising and training ferrets.
  7. Goats 101 - The care and showing of goats. Also included is first aid, and dairy goats or pets.
  8. Horses 101 - This lesson will cover the basic care for horses, first aid, training and games on horseback.
  9. Iguanas 101 - A class designed to help those interested in owning iguanas to provide care and proper habitat.
  10. Jackals 101 - A class about the jackal, how he lives in the wild, care of the jackal in captivity, and jackal folklore from Africa.
  11. Kowari 101 - This class deals with an exotic species of rat that is indiginous of Australia.
  12. LLamas 101 - Care and feeding of Llamas.
  13. Mules 101 - What makes a mule different than a donkey or a horse? This lesson will cover that as well as basic care.
  14. Newts 101 - Newts and salamanders and their care.
  15. Ostriches 101 - Ostrich breeding and farming is discussed.
