 Course Description This course will cover general care and first aid for a variety of animals. Also included will be training tips, fun activities for adults and children and basic first aid in an emergency. Also included in this course is a look at some exotic and rare animals. From Apes, to the Kowari Rat, Wolves, and Zebra, this course is truly an A - Z of animal knowledge. Students can expect to learn a wide range of general care information as well as specifics concerning emergencies and training. Domestic and wild animals will be covered, and students will gain a wealth of knowledge concerning the exotic pet trade and the ill effect it has on endangered species. There are 26 lessons in this course, one for each letter of the alphabet. Students may work at their own pace, but are encouraged to continue on a regular basis, as this is a rather intense and long course. Course Lessons | | Lesson 1: Apes 101A general introduction to the family of apes and their care in captivity. | Lesson 2: Boa Constrictor 101A class on Boa Constrictors their care and maintenance. | Lesson 3: Cats 101General care for cats, as well as training tips and first aid. | Lesson 4: Dog 101A lesson on the general care and training of dogs. First aid and behaviors will be discussed as well. | Lesson 5: Elk 101Raising Elk for fun and profit. | Lesson 6: Ferrets 101Raising and training ferrets. | Lesson 7: Goats 101The care and showing of goats. Also included is first aid, and dairy goats or pets. | Lesson 8: Horses 101This lesson will cover the basic care for horses, first aid, training and games on horseback. | Lesson 9: Iguanas 101A class designed to help those interested in owning iguanas to provide care and proper habitat. | Lesson 10: Jackals 101A class about the jackal, how he lives in the wild, care of the jackal in captivity, and jackal folklore from Africa.
| Lesson 11: Kowari 101This class deals with an exotic species of rat that is indiginous of Australia. | Lesson 12: LLamas 101Care and feeding of Llamas. | Lesson 13: Mules 101What makes a mule different than a donkey or a horse? This lesson will cover that as well as basic care.
| Lesson 14: Newts 101Newts and salamanders and their care. | Lesson 15: Ostriches 101Ostrich breeding and farming is discussed. | Lesson 16: Pigs 101Hog raising and showing. First aid and pigs as pets. | Lesson 17: Quail 101Small game bird breeding, hatching, brooding and raising for fun and profit. | Lesson 18: Rabbits 101Raising rabbits, breeds of rabbits, and caring for rabbits to keep them healthy. | Lesson 19: Skunks 101Keeping skunks as pets. Care and maintainence are discussed. | Lesson 20: Turtles 101General care for pet turtles. | Lesson 21: UakariA small monkey called the Uakari will be discussed. | Lesson 22: Voles 101Interesting information on a cousin to the mole. | Lesson 23: Wolves 101Wolves are not good pets. How the hybred breeders are attempting to change that and the perilous outcome. Also general information concerning wolves. | Lesson 24: Xenarthra 101The Xenarthra family includes anteaters and other species. | Lesson 25: Yak 101Yak and yak crossbreds are discussed. | Lesson 26: Zebra 101A lesson on zebras covering habitat, crossbreeding, and the future of the zebra. | Optional Certificates Awarded - Certificate of Attendance
