So it's good skill to have if you want to be a writer, and even if you don't want to be a professional writer, learn how to write what you want to say about your favorite book, and wow them on Amazon.com reader reviews or in your book clubs. Remember book reviewers often get free books. The instructor Niki Taylor has degrees in English and Library Science and is a freelance writer/book reviewer who has written reviews for websites and magazines. You can work at your own pace with this course. There's no set class time. Let her take you from reader to reviewer.
Everything You Wanted to Know About Book Reviews will first have students become familiar with book review sites online. The course then steps out ways to write good book reviews and finally goes into potential markets that accept book reviews. The only requirements for the course is a love of reading and decent writing skills.

In this course students are required to: 1. Find five book review sites online and describe them in a report. 2. Write a 300 word book review of any book. 3. Send the book review to a publication. The student must also take tests to make sure he/she is learning. The grading scale is Pass/Fail. The class offers certificates. You're not required to buy any books, but two ebooks are suggested. The course is two months long, and you can work at your own pace.


This course offers 1.0 CEUs upon successful completion. You may take this online course with or without CEU documentation. An online and hard-copy Certificate of Course Completion displaying your coursework and CEUs earned is included with the CEU Option.
