The instructor is a Hollywood film maker who has a degree in Electronic Media and Film from Towson University.  He has made commercials, narrative films and documentaries and worked nearly every crew position from grip to Producer (if you don't know who those people are, don't worry you will). He have credits on shows on Discovery, ESPN, History, NBC, BET, MTV, A&E and many more.

Course goals include:  1) Through lessons on theory and technique with multimedia examples, provide the student with a well rounded understanding of professional film/video production to be able to make New Media content the right way from conception to distribution.

2) Make a 2-4 minute video the right way from conception to distribution in one week on a shoestring budget.

Course Description

An introduction to film and video production as well as a step by step guide to making a short film.

This is an exciting time for low budget filmmakers!  There are more ways of getting exposure and making money as a low budget filmmaker than ever before.  Websites are popping up everywhere looking for short films to add to their content.  In the next couple of years, cell phone companies will be seeking short films for streaming video content through satellites to millions of viewers.  This has already begun, and many high tech companies are competing to put together the biggest library of short films.  In many cases, the filmmakers can get royalties on their film projects and earn money for each download. You can use the steps from this course to get your project distributed on the small screen.

Learn the theory and technique to making film and video content from conception to distribution.  Use the "Right Production, Wrong Budget"guide, to complete a 2-4 minute short video in as little as 7 days.  This guide will help you make it through your first shoestring production while utilizing the theory and techniques from the lessons (over 12 interactive lessons, 10-30 lesson hours) on filmmaking.

An Internet Film Course taught by a pro with experience on projects ranging from multi-million dollar budgets to absolutely no budget!  This course will take you through the steps of making a short film while helping to prepare you to work on much larger productions.  It will also prepare you to make your own film and video content whether it's a feature film, a television documentary, or new media content for the internet.  Filled with links to video examples within the lessons, just as if you were sitting in a film school classroom.  Plus, the lessons are loaded with tips and tricks from the instructor's real world production experience.

Many of the contestants on the new hit television show "On the Lot", use these methods to create their own short films with little or no budget and in a very short time.  Use the methods in this course to compete in the Verizon Wireless "Movie Making Challenge" where you can upload your footage and edit right online.

This course offers 1.0 CEUs upon successful completion. You may take this online course with or without CEU documentation. An online and hard-copy Certificate of Course Completion displaying your coursework and CEUs earned is included with the CEU Option. We also offer an expedited Transcript Service for sending your accomplishments to a third party.
