Yard sales, garage sales, swap meets and the like have been around for years now. Knowledge is power. The more you know about the things you buy, and the prices you pay and sell for, the better off you will be. There is a wide spectrum of people who use yard sales as a source of wholesale merchandise, which they will resell to make a profit. Instructor Roger Morse has bought and sold antiques and collectibles in antique malls, on Ebay and at live auctions for the past 10 years and has been an auctioneer for the past 2 years. He will teach you just what to look for and how to make the most of what you find.
* Document your course completion with an online certificate (additional shipping/handling charges apply for hard copy delivery). Instantly download, print, and share your certificate and CEUs once awarded. UniversalClass™ offers many wonderful learning tools to help you get the most out of your online course, including an online portfolio service that manages all your course completions, and a Certificate Verification Service you can use so others may view and verify the authenticity of your awards.

Course Description

The "Antiques Roadshow," and "Treasures in your Attic" along with numerous other shows have produced a groundswell of interest in antiques and collectibles. Almost everyone has hidden treasures in their home that are collecting dust and are often hidden away in the back of the closet. Savvy "pickers" routinely turn those dusty relics into big money. One man bought a painting at a yard sale for $25.00 and later sold it for $250,000! This course will teach you how to discern the junk from the diamonds in the rough. You will learn how to recognize valuable items even before you know exactly what they are. You will learn how to quickly research items you have found and how to find the best way to sell at a profit. This course is for those who have an interest in antiques and collectibles and recognize the value in them but don't know where to begin to cash in. Beginners in this field often make costly mistakes and it is my hope to help you avoid those as much as possible. While I do not hold regular online discussions or "office hours," I am always available by email to answer your questions as you progress.
