The student should desire a good knowledge of Geometry which will include proving theorems, finding congruent polygons, calculating the areas and volumes of polygons and polyhedrons, solving for the parts of right triangles, finding the measurements of circles (arcs, sectors, chords, secants, tangents, central angles and inscribed angles), and understanding the use of algebra in analytical geometry. The class will prepare them for Algebra 2 and Trigonometry. The student should have already successfully completed Algebra 1 (both semesters) and Geometry (first semester). The student or parent should have good skills using a Word processor, email, internet links, and a basic PAINT program.
There is a required textbook. The price should be between $20 and $50, depending on the condition. The information for purchasing the book will be sent to the student after registering for the class.

Course Description
Geometry Class for High School (second semester) is a continuation of my first semester geometry course.
This course will present a good knowledge of Geometry which includes, but is not limited to:
1. proving theorems, 2. finding the angles, perimeter, and area of polygons, 3. calculating the areas and volumes of polyhedrons, 4. solving for the angles and sides of right triangles, 5. finding the measurements of circles and segments of a circle (arcs, sectors, chords, secants, tangents, central angles and inscribed angles) 6. understanding the use of algebra in analytical geometry, (linear equations in two variables, slope, midpoint, distance formula, equation of circles, reflections, rotations, and translations).
In the United States most State Boards of Education require completion of the first and second semesters of Geometry for graduation from a public or private high school. This is the second semester of Geometry.
There is a required book for the course. The book information for this class may be found at .
Thanks for considering my class. Susan Johnsey Google knows me.
