Geography is often defined as the study of natural and man made objects and their spatial arrangement to each other. Some would also say it is the study of the physical features of the Earth's surface including the climate, and animal and plant life distribution. The history of geography has spanned many centuries. It has also developed into an important form for humanity. We use it in our daily lives. For example, when we drive, we have to think of what street to turn on to make it to work. When we build our homes, we often think of the area around the homes. This has led humans into dividing Geography into another smaller division call Physical Geography. In this class we will explore, the physical side of Geography. Introduction to Physical Geography will introduce students to the history of physical geography and they will gain an understanding of the 4 spheres of the discipline. The course requirements in this class are to be able to read and write at a high school level. If you can not fulfill this requirement you can have someone else help you. Kids as well as adults are welcome!
