Instructor Angie Senter has these goals for her students in Trick Horse Training: 1) To provide students with a solid foundation of knowledge on the trick horse history and its famous horses. 2) To give students the background on horse behavior and to be able to assess body language changes of a horse. 3) Allow students to evaluate potential trick horses on both confirmation and personality. 4) Enable students to teach a horse how to give a kiss on command. 5) Enable students to teach a horse how to give a hug on command. 6) Enable students to teach a horse how to say yes on command. 7) Enable students to teach a horse how to say no on command. 8) Provide students with knowledge on how to develop and market a trick horse program. 9) Provide students with advise, encouragement, and suggestions throughout their training process.

Course Description

Learn how to teach your horse amazing performance quality tricks. Increase your horse's resell value, expand your training expertise, and enter into a whole new area of the equine industry through trick horse training. This class will provide you with the history of trick horses, trick horses in the media, selecting the perfect trick horse as well as how to break into the equine entertainment industry. In this course you will learn how to train your horse to do four amazing tricks including how to give you a hug and a kiss and how to answer yes and no to various questions. Wheather you want to perform in front of large groups or just impress people in your own barn this is the course for you. The benifits this class has over a book or video tape on the subject is that you have constant live assistance from me at every step. Lesson 1: An Introduction to Trick Horse Training and Its Uses

Trick horse training has a host of uses. Learning what areas of trick training that you will utilize will help guide the questions and information that you will garner throughout this course.

Lesson 2: The History of Trick Training and Herd Behavior

Learn how trick training was used through the ages and how herd behavior is used as a training aid.

Lesson 3: Reading Equine Body Language

In this lesson you will learn how to read and communicate with your horse through body language.

Lesson 4: How a Horse Learns

In this lesson you will learn how three important techniques conditioning, shaping and timing help a horse learn tricks.

Lesson 5: Selecting a Trick Horse

In this lesson you will learn how to select a successful trick horse.

Lesson 6: Kiss Me

Now you are ready to start in on teaching tricks. This lesson will teach your horse how to give you a kiss.

Lesson 7: Hug Me

Build on the previous lesson by learning how to teach your horse to hug you. This is a cute trick when used with the "Kiss Me" trick.

Lesson 8: Answering Yes

After this lesson your horse will be able to answer "yes" to a whole host of commical questions.

Lesson 9: Answering No

What horse wouldn't want to tell you "no" when you enter his stall with a saddle? Now he can do it to impress audiences.

Lesson 10: Putting Together A Performance

Now that you have mastered four tricks it is time to put them together in a performance. This lesson will walk you though how to be an excellent showman.
