Class Syllabus: Breastfeeding Your Baby

Breastfeeding is the most natural and healthy way to feed your child, but parents often need some support and education. This class is intended as a general guide and overview. Being informed creates self confidence and helps you make important choices for your family. This course gives you the information, research, support and tools to help create a healthy and happy breastfeeding relationship.
This class is appropriate for:
and anyone that deals with nursing moms and babies (teachers, neighbors, nannies, etc.).

To complete this course -read and understand the assigned text -practice the assignments directed in the lessons -present information electronically in class and read the communications of others -use the computer to complete quizzes, gather information, and complete assignments

Course Objectives
- introduction to the basics of breastfeeding
- physiology of breastfeeding
- recognizing the benefits of breastfeeding,
- understanding the range of holds for feeding
- understanding how to pump, store and save breast milk.
- be aware of problems and issues and know how to get help
