Course Description

Adobe Premiere Pro is a video editing program that is part of the Adobe Creative Cloud software collection, as well as Adobe CS6 – or Adobe Creative Suite.  Premiere Pro is used to edit videos, including movies, and is quickly becoming the go-to program for filmmakers all over the world, both amateur and pro.   In fact, both CNN and the BBC use Premiere Pro for editing purposes. 

This course was designed to teach you how to successfully use Premiere Pro, no matter if you have ever used the program before or not.  Both the beginner and seasoned user can benefit from this course, starting with the basics of the program including navigation and continuing on to more advanced features. 

You will learn how to:

·     Navigate Premiere Pro

·     Create and open projects

·     Work with files

·     Import media into Premiere Pro

·     Organize your media once it's imported

·     Use the Timeline for video and audio tracks

·     Edit tracks in the Timeline

·     Create sequences and nested sequences

·     Add motion to your clips

·     Create and work with keyframes

·     Add animation and other effects

·     Add transitions

·     Use the color-correction tools

·     Sync clips from multiple cameras

·     Add text, shapes, and logos to your project

·     Work with audio in the Audio Workspace

This course was written using Premiere Pro CC, because it is the most recent and updated version of the Premiere Pro program.   Not all features taught or discussed in this course may be available in CS6.   However, whenever necessary and possible, we will cover any discrepancies or differences between CS6 and CC so that, after completing this course, you can successfully use both CS6 and CC, depending on your preference and choice.  You do not need to have access to Premiere Pro to take or complete this course.

Course Requirements

This course will not require you to have previous experience in any particular area but you should have the following:

- Adobe Premiere  CS6- CC (recommended) 
- a high school reading level.

No books will be required.

Course Materials

All course material will be provided in the lessons and netlinks. There are no required materials to purchase before taking the class. In order to fully benefit from this course, though, you do need access to Adobe Premiere.

Grading Policy

Each lesson will include a lesson review exam along with an assignment. Students will successfully complete this course by mastering all learning outcomes with 70% or higher overall grade.

  • Demonstrate working with multi-cameras and audio tracks in Adobe Premiere.
  • Demonstrate using titles and closed captioning in Premiere.
  • Know publishing your video, and
  • Demonstrate mastery of lesson content at levels of 70% or higher.
