 Course Description This course is an examination of the psychological, physiological, social, and educational characteristics of individuals who are considered in need of special education services. The historical foundations, as well as the current trends in this field will be covered. The course, through reading of the literature and class discussion, seeks to provide the student with information which will allow identification and differentiation among groups of individuals with disabilities. Social and educational trends relative to exceptional individuals will also be presented.
