Information will include: - Basic facts and statistics about violence and children
- Discussion regarding the news report, Little Criminals
- Possible causes of violence and early identification of potential for violence
- How to help children avoid violent conflicts
- What can parents and educators do to prevent violence
Course Requirements - Treat all members of the online community with respect.
- Read messages and post in the discussion area weekly.
- Meet stated outcomes in order to qualify for certificate or documentation based upon individual needs.
- Read and complete assignments based upon your individual time schedule.
- Investigate provided links for completion of assignments and further information on the topic.
- Share pertinent links and facts about the topic.
Grading Policy This will be a pass/fail course. If you participate fully in the discussion area, complete required assignments and participate by evaluating your progress through the quizzes and surveys, then you will pass. If you fail to log in (come to class) weekly/ regularly, do not post in the discussion area, and neglect completing your assignments, then you will not receive a certificate until the requirements are met. Reading Material Throughout the course, links will be provided to connect you to timely articles and bibliographies specific to violence and children.
