Prerequisites-You should have a high school diploma before starting this course. This course is designed for college level students interested in the field of education.
Course Completion-This course is designed for students to work at their own pace. You will complete the course once you have worked through each lesson, its activities and exams.
Course goals
The primary objective of this course is to provide information that will lead each student to their desired career in education. Students should expect to learn enough about the field of education to identify if they want to pursue a career as an educator.

- Expectations of state and federal education departments
- How to use resources
- Details about the New York State Education system
- What components go into planning lessons for students
- How students performance can be evaluated
- Teacher certification and requirements
Grading policy
This course is Pass/Fail/
Participation in activities, assignments, discussions and exams are essential to succeeding in this course.
Activities, assignments and discussion will be all graded on class participation.
Exams will provide a point value to give each student an idea of how well they are learning the material. These scores will provide you with the opportunity to reinforce your learning by going back to prior lessons and improving your knowledge of a concept.
