Course Description
Learn the process of tax preparation and calculating tax returns. Starting at the very beginning, this course takes you through all the steps for understanding the basics of tax terms and tax laws. You will learn the different filing status for taxpayers and how to put the taxpayer information onto the tax return forms. The newest software is available for this class. The software is easy to use and simplifies tax return preparation. Because of the modern electronic capability, tax preparers don't have to spend hours with pencil and paper figuring math. Calculating forms require minimal input, and then accurately calculate all the math for you. With these lessons, you can learn to do your own taxes, do your friends and family taxes and become a paid tax preparer during tax season. Optional applications are available at the end of the lessons for registration with the IRS or to become an authorized e-file provider in your state. By the time you have completed the course, you will be able to prepare a basic tax return: taxpayers of each filing status; with a W2 or 1099-R form; with or without dependents; with minor itemized deductions, business or self-employment Schedules. You may also earn a Certificate of Completion from UniversalClass for finishing this class.
