Course Description
This course is a practical one that follows my QuickBooks Accounting class. It focuses primarily on those who have an interest in starting their own bookkeeping business, although anyone with some basic QuickBooks and accounting experience stands to benefit from it. The course expands and goes into an in-depth discussion of bank reconciliation, online banking, payroll taxes, federal tax preparation, the statement of cash flow, ratio analysis, depreciation and of course a whole lesson on starting a bookkeeping business. This lesson offers practical advice and discusses the basic tools you will need to start your own bookkeeping practice. Among other topics, this lesson will look into the forms to fill out to register your business, where to begin, how much to charge for your services, advertising, education, qualifications and more. Students will also see a sample Service Agreement, which they can customize to their own particular situation. This contract will be the basis for signing up new customers and getting your business off the ground.
Course Requirements
Students need to have at least "Introductory" bookkeeping and accounting experience to participate in the class. The QuickBooks software is also required if students are going to get the most from the course.
Course Goals
The goal of the course is to give students the tools and information they will need to start their own bookeeping business. Although anyone with basic QuickBooks and Accounting experience will find the information presented in the class very useful.

Grading Policy
Students will take a total of five quizzes. In order to successfully pass the course a minimum overall grade of 70% is required on the quizzes only. The quizzes are in the form of multiple choices, true/false; fill in the blanks and essay-type questions.
In addition, students will complete five assignments and participate in class discussions. The assignments will count towards your overall class participation, but not your final grade.

No. The material has been carefully crafted to give students the edge they need to pass the class. The quizzes are challenging, but not too difficult. With a little bit of effort you should do just fine. You are welcome, however to repeat the class anytime if you want to.
