Have you ever wanted to become an advocate, or get into the field of social work? If you are a daycare worker: parent, or someone who has an interest in the welfare of children, this course would be beneficial. It is designed for people of all backgrounds: ages, cultures, and social status. It is useful for people to train in the area of child advocacy: outreach, childcare, and child safety. Children are at risk and are very vulnerable. This course is designed for people who wish to learn about all aspects of child protection: CHILD ABUSE, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, SAFETY IN THE HOME, SAFETY IN SOCIETY, CHILD PORNOGRAPHY, THE LAW, RITUAL ABUSE, DRUG AND ALCOHOL ABUSE, THE CYCLE OF ABUSE, REFERRALS, and RELIGION. Includes many parts from my child sexual abuse class! This course will also look into adequate housing: food, and clothing issues as they relate to children. Student posting will be used as a benefit for all enrolled in this program to ensure that all students can learn from other cultures: beliefs, social status, and communities. This course is made for students to  'work at your own speed': also the benefit having the instructor there when needed by each student, on a one to one basis. Course Requirements

1) Students should have high school reading level.

2) Students are required to participate in posting information as required in the class forum.

3) There are no texts required in this course. Everything you will need will be included in this course.

4)  Access to the internet.

5) Class participation is required. The sharing of information you have gained will benefit all students enrolled in this program.

6) Assignments are to done as requested by the instructor.

Course Goals

Each student is here to learn about the dynamics (process)to practice and educate this process in the efforts to prevent child abuse. Each student is required to: 1) Complete each assignment as required by the instructor. 2) Communicate as required in the class forum area- to provide and receive knowledge in this area. 3) Respect and learn cultural beliefs. 4) Offer positive feedback of course materials.

Reading Materials

All reading materials will be included with your course lessons with the exception of research which you will be required to do on the internet or your local library.

Grading Policy

To receive your certificates you will be required to complete all assignments and quizzes with an overall passing grade of 70% or higher.

Spelling and punctuation are important but I will not be grading you on this. Please keep in mind that although I will not be grading you on this, I must be able to understand what you are writing about!

Make sure that you have re-read your work to ensure that you haven't left out any words that may benefit me in grading your assignments.

Class Communications

As part of this course, students will be required to post information in the class forum area on a regular basis. This provides an opportunity to share your knowledge, and also to gain knowledge from others. Be sure do the following:
1-Show respect of others opinions, goals and efforts made in the class forum.
2-Swearing or vulgarity will not be condoned in this course and in doing so may result in your dismissal from this course.
3-Opinions are welcomed in my course and are valued, please allow me some time to respond.
