Course Requirements

There are no educational requirements for taking this course other than a high school reading and writing level in English.  All course information will be given online so there are no required books or other materials to purchase.

Ø  Familiarity with the different style guides available and to recognize the importance of the guide that you use in relation to the content of text.

Ø  How to create and use a style sheet as a copyeditor or proofreader.

Ø  What proofreaders' marks are and how to use them to copyedit or proofread bodies of work.

Ø  Proofreader tasks

Ø  How to be an efficient and capable proofreader.

Ø  How to copyedit different types of copy and acquire tips to help you be a more effective copyeditor.

Ø  How to successfully copyedit and proofread your own work.

Ø  Knowledge of the skills and education requirements needed  to work as a proofreader or copyeditor within a company or as a freelancer

Grading Policy

90 - 100 % = A
80 - 89 % = B
70 - 79 % = C
Below 70 = F
 

Each lesson will be followed with a related exam and assignment so students can  test comprehension of lesson material.
