Course Description
This eight lesson course is designed to give students a solid introduction to Pagan or earth-centered belief systems. The course is designed around the text, Paganism: An Introduction to Earth-Centered Religions, by Joyce and River Higginbotham (Llewellyn, 2002). If you are exploring Paganism, if someone you love is Pagan and you want to understand it better, or if you are an Interfaith explorer who wants a better understanding of Pagan beliefs, come and join us on this journey.
Course Requirements
All students are asked to purchase the text,Paganism: An Introduction to Earth-Centered Religions (Joyce and River Higginbotham, Llewellyn Press, 2002). The cost is usually about $15.00 from a local or online bookstore. There will be suggested journaling exercises for each lesson, so having a personal journal is optional yet highly recommended.
Course Goals
To educate on basic beliefs and practices of people practicing "paganism" or "earth-centered" traditions in their varying forms. More details about the varying definitions of Pagansim are discussed in class.
Course Materials
Students are asked to keep a journal on hand and to purchase a copy of Paganism: An Introduction To Earth-Centered Religions (Joyce & River Higginbotham, Llewellyn Press, 2002).
Grading Policy
There will be no grades for this class. Students who post responses to the suggested exercises for every lesson(see the syllabus)will earn a certificate of appreciation.
