Course Description
This is an exciting course of One Stroke painting, teaching flowers from the seasons and much more. Students see still-life pictures of strokes, while Joan is painting, as well as written instuctions.
Students learn Spring hyacinths, trumpets, azaleas, violets; Summer hibiscus, waterlilys, birds of paradise, and geraniums; Fall hydrangeas, dahlias, petunias, and daisies; Winter pansies, chrysanthemums, poinsettias, and carnations.
Students learn parrots, dragonflies, butterflies, and bees to enhance their floral paintings.
Course Requirements
No painting experience is necessary to take this course. Students learn all the elements, one stroke at a time.
Students work at their own pace and in their own schedule. There is no pressure in this class.
Course Goals
The goal in this course is for students to learn many different flowers, leaves, and floral design composition, in simple steps, one stroke at a time.
After completing this course, students will be able to paint simple floral designs, using all the added background elements, to enhance their floral creativity.
Course Materials
Folk Art Acrylic Paints:
Colors: Dioxazine purple, thicket, sunflower, schoolbus yellow, yellow light, pure orange, wicker white, yellow ochre, butter pecan, green forest, berry wine, burnt carmine, engine red, burnt umber, and floating medium.
Please feel free to substitute any colors you want for all your paintings. There are many new colors from Plaid. Look in the Plaid paint display in your craft store.

Grading Policy
There are no grades issued in this course. The quizzes are geared toward the student's understanding of the lesson. No pressure!
Disclaimer
There are no guarantees that students will paint exactly like the painted samples. Students need to practice their strokes to improve painting skills.

Demonstrate mastery of lesson content at levels of 70% or higher.
