Course Overview

 

The One Stroke decorative painting technique is currently the hottest form of decorative painting. Donna Dewberry, the creator of this technique as seen on QVC, has helped millions of people gain confidence in learning to paint. Joan Waff, a Certified One Stroke Instuctor, certified by Donna Dewberry, is qualified to give you the chance to learn this in the privacy of your home at you own convenience. There is no stress for completing each lesson. You can do this course on a small table, so you don't need lots of room to achieve success. This course will have you ready for all the holidays. It is packed full of subjects and designs for your painting fun. Joan will take you step-by-step in her fun filled lessons with stroke guides, and written instructions. In this course, you will learn how to paint bunnies, heart wreaths, patriotic wreaths, flags, cornucopia, pumpkins, snowmen, santa, bears, holiday trees, holiday wreaths, poinsettias, hollies, as well as holiday cats and dogs. Sprinkled in this course are completed designs for you to paint. Joan will also be putting in her own special designs that she has created using the One Stroke technique. Some of Joan's designs have been published in the "Stroking Edge" Magazine, by Donna Dewberry. Painting is a form of self-expression as well as spreading happiness to others. Through this course, you will learn many "One Stroke" techniques and subjects to help you achieve painting creativity. Let's have fun, and learn a hobby that will last you a lifetime.

Course Requirements

 

There are no requirements for this class. All the steps needed are in the stroke guides and written instructions.

 

Course Goals

 

The goal of this course is for you to be able to paint heart leaves, five petal flowers, curliques, bunnies, grass, wreaths, flags, cornucopia with apples, plums, pears, grapes, with fruit leaves as well as pumpkins, pumpkin bears, bears, santas, trees, and snowmen. You will learn how to put completed designs together, following every topic. You will be able to use elements alone, and with others, to create your own unique designs. After completing this course, you will be able to share your creativity through gifts, bazaars, shops, online vending, craft shows, as well as home decor.

 

Reading Materials

 

There is no need to buy any books for this course. You will have written instructions and stroke guides with each lesson and every step.

Painting Supplies needed are:
Paint: Folk Art acylic by Plaid
Colors: floating medium (colorless), wicker white, engine red, pure oranges, burnt umber, thicket, sunflower yellow, school bus yellow, licorice, maple syrup, night sky, dioxazine purples, berry wine, green forest, and denim blue.

Brushes: Plaid by Donna Dewberry Sizes: 3/4" Flat, #10 Flat, #12 Flat, Medium Scruffy, #2 Script Liner, 1/2" angular

Miscellaneous: Foam Plates (for palette), Paper Towels, Brush Basin, Wax Paper, Artist Practice Pad (optional)

Grading Policy

 

There will be no grades issued in this course. This course is for you to find a new hobby and use it for the rest of your life.
Completing this course is simply finishing the lessons, assignments, and quizzes

 

Why take this course?

 

Taking this course, will teach you a simple decorative painting technique that you can use on limitless surfaces. You will gain confidence and creativity and will be able to share this with the world, through gifts, home decor, craft shows, bazaars, charities, and craft shops. The techniques you will learn will last you a lifetime of spreading happiness to the world through your decorative art. You don't have to be an expert in painting to create beautiful designs. Your work will be unique.

 

Course Organization and Topics

 

In this course, you will be taught a "subject" or "topic" in mini lessons. At the end of the mini lessons, you will be give a finished design. You will be given an assignment after each mini lesson to help you learn the strokes. You will also have the capability to print all the pictures, so you can use them for practicing sheets. Simply put wax paper over them, and paint on top.

Some lessons will have a quiz, that will reinforce what you have learned.
