Class Syllabus: Time Engineering 101

Do you feel that you are faced with challenges in meeting all the demands that are placed on you each day? Do you feel that you are not achieving all that you can in your life or all that you want to? If so, then this class is for you! If you want to learn to focus on getting the results that you desire, you should take this class! The lessons will help you formulate your direction and encourage you to do what it takes to get results! This course will lead you through the process of setting goals for your life in seven critical areas, as well as the process of developing a personal mission statement. It will emphasize balance in all areas in order to create a meaningful, happy life.
Students will analyze how they are managing their time currently, create a strategic plan to improve self-defeating behaviors, and develop a program to achieve their goals. We will learn how to use visualization through story writing to jump-start achieving your goals.
Tools will be provided to help you stick to your plan and develop your personalized system for time management. This is an activity-based class that can be incredibly powerful depending on how much you put into it and how honest you are with yourself!

Course Goals
What you can achieve through this course:
~create a Personal Mission statement
~learn about seven areas of life-goals and balance between them
~create 3 goals in 7 focus areas for the next 6 months
~learn to use visualization and writing to kick-start your process of attacting your goals
~learn about the eight principles of fun!
~understand the difference between busy-ness and effectiveness
~analyze your current time uses and habits
~learn how to minimize environmental distractions
~learn how to change the habit of procrastination
~develop a program using the tools provided to achieve your goals
Course Materials
All course materials will be provided with each lesson. You may need to print out resources for you to use daily or as part of developing your time management program. I will make recommendations or suggestions about how other materials can be used to enhance your program.
Grading Policy
This course is all about what you want to get out of it and how much you are willing to put into it. Personal achievement is more valuable than any grade and you will know how well you have done yourself. I will be your guide only.
