Course Description
This online course will prepare you to take the GED (General Educational Development) test. The testing format will be explained and broken down to highlight the five testing areas along with the content each of these sections will cover.
This course will provide many resources from test tips and strategies, practice tests and recommended book preparations, and researched netlinks attached to many test topics to be read at your own leisure. The GED test covers a wealth of information within the five-test sections. These test sections include English Grammar and the Mechanics of Writing, Social Studies, Science Studies, Math Studies and Literature Studies. You will not need to know all of the information in these areas to pass the GED, but you will need to know and understand several of the main topics in each area. This course highlights, provides a brief summary/definition/ or example of each of these main topics.
Course Requirements
This course (like the GED) requires at least a ninth grade level of reading- writing- and math skills. This course will make use of the English Language, so it is highly recommended that you have a firm grasp and can clearly communicate in this language.
There are no required books or other materials to complete this course. I've listed some recommended books below for futher study.
Course Goals
The course goal is to prepare you to successfully pass the GED test.
Grading Policy
Each test section is divided up into a number of lessons, each lesson will have an attached practice quiz. Each quiz (with the exception of the essay quiz) will provide you with immediate feedback. In addition, you will be able to retake each quiz repeatedly until you have grasped the test content.
