Course Description

This course is for people who are new to web design and who want to use Dreamweaver to build attractive and accessible websites. Learn how to plan your Web site, create and edit content, add interactivity and publish your site using Dreamweaver tools. Start with the Dreamweaver user interface and proceed step-by-step to more advanced topics like creating animations, using cascading style sheets and online forms. At the conclusion of this course you will understand how to use the tools in Dreamweaver to build and publish Web sites.

Note: Basic experience with Windows, Web Browsers and the Internet are recommended.

Course Requirements

It is recommended that the student have Adobe Dreamweaver installed on their computer in order to complete assignments.

Learning Outcomes

Plan your website effectively
List and describe the Dreamweaver environment
Implement and use the various tools in Dreamweaver e.g. formatting text, inserting images and hyper links
Create image maps, tables, frame sets, forms, rollover images, and simple behaviors
Describe and implement various style sheets
Insert and play sound files, video files and plug-ins
Publish a website in Dreamweaver

Course Materials

The student is not required to use any supplementary materials for this course other than a recent copy of Adobe Dreamweaver (Educational version is acceptable).

Grading Policy

Web Design with Dreamweaver is a self-paced course that can be completed in about 9 weeks. There are 9 lessons, several small homework assignments and 2 tests. I also award points for completing all the lessons, your level of participation in class forums and your overall enthusiasm.
