Course Requirements

Students need to have software which can be used to develop the candy bar covers.

I use Printshop and Clarisworks mainly, but other programs are acceptable. Printshop is an easy program that is simple to figure out. I have version 10 which is great. If you can cut, paste, use fonts, clip art,and insert photographs, you should be able to make a candy bar cover.

I will work with you to try and get you what you need, or teach you how to make a template for your self.

There is no need to buy a program, but I do know that there are some available and will help you find one if you want.

The student needs to feel secure in the knowledge that they can learn a new program, be patient with it, and willing to try.

Each student also needs a printer. A good quality photographic printer is necessary if one is to design bars with photographs.

Additionally, different types of printer paper will be used. Plain, matte finish paper for trial and error, and good quality glossy paper for final projects.

I use a Lexmark X83 and HP 3820 but have also been very pleased with my Epson.

Course Goals

The goals for the students are to learn, have fun and try! I expect all students to do the lessons, easy assignments, quizzes, polls, and view the links I've posted.

Course Materials

A computer, printer, and paper is necessary along with a program such as Printshop. Other programs may be used if you already have the experience.

Grading Policy

My only policy is that you complete the work, and try your best. Each assignment and quiz will be worth 10 points.

Disclaimer

I do not claim to know about the laws and regulations for small businesses other than my own. I give suggestions, and try to find answers for my students whenever I can.
