Course Description
If you have an interest in opening your own photography studio or an "on location" family photography business, this is the course you should be taking! The class will give you step-by-step information so you can start a profitable business photographing families, photographing daycare and preschools, and taking those teen senior portraits. Not only will your work be critiqued by a photographer who has her own photo business, she will tell you how to make those special old-time prints plus give you tips for photographing awesome children's portraits. You will also learn to create your own unique alternative backgrounds and photo studio sets for the lucrative market of 'senior portrait' photography. So if this is something you always wanted to try, but were a little fearful, this stress-free self-paced course will be just the place to start. Course Requirements
The only requirement for this course is to have a camera. Any type of camera will work for this course. You may use a 35mm SLR or Digital camera of any quality. The goal of this course is to teach you how to take great, creative, child photography for yourself or to sell in your portrait studio. No other reading or materials are required.
Course Goals
To teach the serious beginner the basics of family and group photography and setting up your own at-home or on-location portrait studio. The course goal is to make a professional photographer out of a true beginner. The time it will take depends on the individual. You can literally take this course over an 8 week period of time and learn all you need to know about taking saleable prints and then selling them.
Course Materials
You are encouraged to read through all the netlinks for a thorough understanding of your photographic training. There is no need to go out and purchase any additional information on photography. This course contains everything you will need including free e-guides on photography that the instructor has prepared that you may upload from your classroom link including critical photography contracts and checklists that you will need to copy and use for your own studio. Includes exposure charts and technical terminology and information that will make the complicated world of photography clear as a bell. Discussions on the art of photography is included and media will be given on fun, creative ways that your photograph can turn into a work of art. Lighting media is also offered that will teach you lighting in a snap.
Grading Policy
At the end of each section there will be a 10 question, 10 points each, exam for a total of 100% possible percent.
Time Limit To Complete This Course
This is a self-paced course that you take in your spare time, full or part-time as your schedule permits. You are required to enter the class forum and read postings at least once during your course, but are not required to post messages of your own. This course is entirely at your own pace, however, one could easily complete the entire course in 8-12 weeks. You can prolong the course for up to a year if you like and enjoy the forums and conversation from the instructor as well as continue to chat in the chat room with the other students. Enjoy.

Certificates are offered as follows: Class Participation, Certificate of Merit and also Outstanding Acheivement.
