Course Description

This course is designed as an advanced study of trick horse training. The material represented here builds on the beginning trick training course. During this class we will review the mechanics of trick training and then dive right into ten exciting lessons on teaching tricks. Each lesson will give you the equipment, procedures and alternatives for teaching a new trick. Learn such exciting things as teaching your horse to smile, drink from a bottle, count, bow, kneel and much much more. The final lesson in this class offers and in depth look at the equine entertainment industry. After completion of this course (and the original trick horse training course) you will be able to put on entire performances with your horse. Whether you want to break into movies, do half-time shows or just play around the barn this last lesson will give you an overview on how to get started.

Course Requirements

It is highly recommended that the first class, trick horse training, be taken prior to this advanced class. The first class not only explains the mechanics of trick horse training but teaches essential skills that are integrated in this more advanced class. Seminars on trick horse training average over $300.00 so the small investment in the beginning class will give you an invaluable foundation of knowledge to help you excel in this, more advanced, class.

A general working knowledge of equine behavior and traditional training is helpful. It is not necessary that you have your own horse to participate, borrow a friends or just come along for the adventure and bank the information that you learn here for future use on your dream horse!

The course content is written at a high school reading level.

Course Goals

Student Goals: 1. Gain insight and knowledge on how to train for and execute 10 advanced tricks
