As our society ages, a demand for caring, loving, and informed caregivers is growing. In this course, a basic body of knowledge will be presented to assist both professional and non-professional caregivers as they accept increasingly more complex responsibilities. This introductory course covers the legal issues, safety issues, and basic skills needed to provide homecare for seniors. The course is designed for those who wish to provide services professionally as an individual contractor or as a staff member for a non-medical homecare agency/registry. It also is helpful for those who are currently caring for significant others, such as family or friends. While this course will not provide state approved certification for nurse aide training, it is a great place to start to enter the home care field.
